STATIONARY SAND PUMPS

Sand feeding device for automatic loading to sandboxes on trams, locomotives and trains generally called “pneumatic sand pumps”.

The pump may have a capacity of between 90-800 L (135-1200 kg) to fill sandboxes. Filling is made with a movable arm supporting the filling hose and the gun that adapts to the sandbox inlet. The gun has a special valve on the outlet, meaning that when filling is completed, there is no loss of sand to pollute the environment.

When filling sandboxes, the residual dust is sucked up by the gun and purified through the filter.

Pumps can be used at any time without operator intervention beforehand and, thanks to the control system, all pumps can be used simultaneously.

The principle of operation is to have a pressurized system, permanently filled with sand and ready for use when the operator requires. This condition is the “stand by” mode.

This concept is similar to the petrol pump.
